Re: I had an appointment with a doctor about something else

You made a good point about Nystatin.

Guess what I just found without looking! I was just reading about Invasive Candida, which can be hard to diagnose, when I read about the causes of it. It stated that it is caused by some form of immune dysfunction:

- Loss of barrier integrity
- Metabolic derangement
- Increased pathogen exposure
- NEUTROPHIL DYSFUNCTION (neutropenia)

So, your neutrophil abnormality may be the cause! Figure out how to treat that. I will have to check my neutrophil count. It is in normal range, but maybe it is in lowest range. Perhaps we should get our bone marrow checked?

Neutropenia is also a side effect of the drug accutane.

I read antifungals do not work as well for Candida Glabrata.

Pancreatitis is another cause of Invasive Candida, but there are several causes.
