Re: Is this a liver fluke egg?

Thanks. I am self-diagnosing because the health system as of yet has failed to properly diagnose my problem. I have been ill with autoimmune problems for 12 years, since traveling, and suspect parasites. I have tried the usual cutting out dairy/wheat/sugar etc etc with no luck. I am also getting a professional test done, but as others have said, it doesn't always show up. If I do have liver flukes, it would definitely be in the "chronic stage" and can be hard to diagnose. I may go to Mayo Clinic and see if they can find something, but that's $5000k deposit just for an appointment, so if I can do it myself I'd rather :)

Would eosinophils be tested for in a routine CBC? They did a blood test last week too. She also tested for liver enzymes, as a liver problem would also explain why the prednisone did not work. I suppose I will find out soon enough, this waiting is driving me nuts though. I do feel (hope) that the answer is around the corner anyway..

What see could look like an egg like that in the stool though? If you google liver fluke egg it looks exactly the same, and the size is right on. I'm just wondering what else they could be if not eggs?
