Re: Catecholamines compensate for low blood pressure?

Hi Marie,

When i very first got very ill i had low cortisol reading. A different diet, NB regime...and other things known to be good for AF is the route i've been taking. It's been a yo-yo experience, some improvements in some areas, not so in others and worse with other symptoms.

I haven't had a recent full diurnal saliva, but have been monitoring BP throughout for months which doesn't budge from being low, no matter how much real salt i consume or other electrolytes i've introduced. Body temps vary hugely still.

Thats why i asked...if cortisol is low then perhaps the body uses adrenaline as another vasoconstrictor to push up blood pressure. I have adrenalin going crazy for days at a time with nothing to shut it off - it feels like...and that is with zero stress, at home, peace of the countryside. Sweating like i'm running a marathon.

From what i understand you still produce adrenaline from the adrenal medulla with Addison's, it's the outer cortex that produces cortisol and aldosterone that becomes hypo-functioning?

I am due for a new hair test, saliva full panel etc. I think i am going to shoot for a new doctor visit to see if they can/will do a work-up. You've gotta be near dead in this country for them to even take your damn BP!
