Re: DHEA supplementation with HC A MUST!

I totally agree that HC is handed out like sweeties a lot of the time...i've even heard of folk NOT having a cortisol test and being prescribed HC!
That's dangerous medical practice at the end of the day.
Why have labs to guide physicians when physicians prefer to guess and diagnose to prescribe the wrong medicine? The whole system stinks in that way.
I read earlier 92,000 deaths in the US by wrongly prescribed medication alone. More deaths than road traffic accidents.

With stats like that it highlights that it's not necessarily these man-made drugs at fault, rather the man prescribing the drugs, who simply can't be arsed to do his/her job properly!

My dad was given monthly injections of HC for a frozen shoulder. Massive, one-off doses. After that he put on lots of belly weight and lost his energy, couldn't do his job. That shouldn't have been used in that way.

Yet for someone who barely makes it through the day for the nausea, dizziness, super-sensitivity to stress, sound, lights, grappled with anxiety, ever-increasing Depression and weight loss who would rather die than live - i would say HC is an excellent choice. It's about quality of life.

Yet the reasons for WHY the adrenals are failing of course needs addressing too - or it's a lifetime of HC.

Just like Marie - she's on HC and is weaning off of it. Had she not been on it she could have easily experienced severe Addisonian Crisis, which can potentially lead to death and often does in people undiagnosed, only to get diagnosed when they're dead. (it's truly pityful)

It really boils down to quality of life, and if supps and diet change start to make a difference then steroid use can be avoided and that's preferable and wonderful. For some conditions steroids are needed to 'kick start' life. Only those with a will and belief in natural laws and medicine, like Marie, are able to, with taking it at a safe pace, wean off of steroid use, while healing underlying imbalances.

I don't on the whole condone pharma drugs and the mass ignorance that surrounds the industry, and i really do chime with you on all the potential damaging effects of drugs, but when quality of life is really not there, the technology has the potential to help, if there is a dedicated physician enabling proper diagnostic assistance and correct drug use.

That's quite the lovely fantasy isn't it?! ;-)
