Re: The Reactive Mind, Dianetics and Scientology
I think I agree with pretty much everything that you are saying, but what I would tell you is to not underestimate the importance of the back-and-forth effect of the body and the mind. What is in the mind will eventually make and imprint on the body and become purely physical, what is in the body will eventually imprint to the mind and become a part of the mind. Every physical action and physical food we take into the body will eventually have a big impact on the functioning of the mind. A while back I was caught up on just trying to repair the mind, without focusing on the body, and generally this approach will not work, we need to take a mind, body approach and gradually make changes to get everything back to where it should be. Because we exist in a physical reality, we will feel the most impact (positive and negative) from how the body is treated and nourished. Healing by means of the body is very easy to do as long as you have someone to point you in the right direction. Healing through the mind is also very possible and you can heal the body directly from the mind, but it is much more difficult to do and the majority of people will be able to accomplish a very, very minuscule amount of healing directly through the mind. If you have the right guide and the innate ability to do so, it is possible and there are surely people that have done it. I have not looked into Scientology much, but I am sure that there are many truths, just like many other religions contain many truths, the problem is when people get caught up in the dogma of their religions and miss the plain and obvious truths that are at the root of the religion.
