Perfect? I can say no..... but with God's help, I'm constantly rooting out idols in my life, that keep me from being in perfect communion with Him. A question we must ask ourselves is, what things we do have (since all good things come from above - *James 1:17*)....do we share freely to benefit the Kingdom of God and it's people? Sharing the gospel with those in need and those who will hear? Sharing our gifts and talents? Or are we keeping them all to ourselves, burying them in the ground, so to speak, because we are afraid or selfish to use our gifts to serve God with?
Some may be called to serve with only a mat in a cold, dark alley....others may serve with a warm home, or use their vehicle for transportation. Some will have businesses, others will have skills. Where ever we are in life and whatever God has blessed us with...we should use, to His glory.
God will judge the intent of the heart for each person. We must stay in tune with Him, so we will know what we need to give up or to give.
It's when I quit wanting to be perfect in Christ and think everything is a-ok, is when I need to really be concern. I would think this is the "lukewarm" that some refer to.
2 Corinthians 7:1
Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
2 Corinthians 6:16
What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
*James 1:17* Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.
