Here is an analogy that you might find hilarious. Suppose one goes out on the town and gets drunk, eats too much and gets locked up. That certainly was of no benefit to the individual.

Incidental infestations may make a bug happy but it is not of it's nature to be there. Parasitic infestations allow for the parasite to break down the host in order for it to further propagate and to manifest it's genetics.

Predatory actions aren't parasitic actions either.
