Re: Do penalties for smokers and the obese make sense?

its in the first sentence:

"Faced with the high cost of caring for smokers and"

show me. smokers work their whole lives and then die younger. the amount of care is either a couple of months after diagnosis to die of cancer or they convalesce at home with oxygen until they expire. this is nothing compared to other cancers, diabetes, etc, etc, etc. these others linger for decades past retirement age. smokers dont. they also have less down time and are more productive than most. then they are gone.

the obese, otoh, are unable to produce as much and are sick more often. and with medical help they can live a long time past their working years.

this crap stinks to high heaven.

and thats just the first fallacy.
