Lightning studies out at the Space Center shows some lightning exceeds about 3 million Volts/m & current of 30,000 amperes. An average bolt of positive lightning carries an electric current of about 300 kA — about 10 times that of negative lightning. I lost my ground strap of 00guage wire it was only 8 inches long rated @ 300 Amps was gone! just two burnt ends at the connector left. Tweet
