I have quite a bit of experience with this, as I have had gout in the past also. Generally nuts and beans are not the best food choices for people that get gout. I am also a vegetarian and the one type of bean I do eat that I feel great with are split yellow mung beans (also called mung dal) you can find them at any indian grocery. Pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds can be eaten but only in small amounts. Generally, carbohydrates are the best foods to eat, although refined carbohydrates and sugars can cause symptoms of gout. For me, milk seems to be helpful with this, low-fat milk is best and generally diet should be somewhat low-fat so as not to place strain on the liver. The kidneys will always be strained for people who have gout because they are mainly responsible for eliminating uric acid from the body. The best kidney purifiers are cilantro and parsley and these can be used with great benefit, probably better than any herbal teas. Avoiding caffeine is definitely wise.
