Re: Adrenal fatigue and effexor.

Some folks will say that SSRIs are tools of the devil. They are not, they are a tool like anything else. I was on an SSRI and it helped a lot with the anxiety & depression.

I had a lot of "side effects" from it, but looking back most of the side effects from it were simply symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue. They became unmasked as I dealt with the big issue. I could have handled those symptoms knowing what I know now.

All that being said, Effexor is the SSRI most people wish they had never taken. It is not being on it that is the problem, it's coming off it, or heck even missing a dose. Brain Zaps. I never took it myself as I had that advice.

From what you've said Risen something serious likely will help you. the longer you are ill, the more you have to claw back: both chemically & psychologically.

You know, the official reason folks are on SSRIs is to give them a year (or so) of calm. That's the time they get their brain network in order through therapy. In your case, perhaps that'll be dealing with other roots.

All that being said, I found the SSRI got me that stability, and I felt lots better on it. It worked. It did have one negative side effect that wasn't AF : I had an unstopable appitite. I used to weight 180lb as normal, then got up to 217, and now around 200 unless I fight hard to lose. But I'm alive; I'll take the tradeoff.
