Re: Solar water distillation
Heaven forbid should people in a neighborhood or community actually plan and organize this kind of thing....... they may actually cover a lot more bases than one or two people acting alone :) Back in the day, I mean literally back in the day 100 or more years ago, this was called people being people and just living among one and other enjoying their lives, neighbors, families and fruits of their labor.......but then along came the hook-nosed bankster prodding their charismatic politicans backing the federal governmen beast with it's insatiable appetite and ever expanding ugly and obese bulk with ever increasing numbers of thorny tentacles reaching out to squeeze each and every one of us.
Just a friendly pointer - if and when the major disaster or martial law or economic collapse or all of the above occur, there is good chance that many people will have to resort to more old-fashioned methods of acquiring the goods they need to survive, such as through barter. In such a circumstance, excess water is money, excess tools = money, excess fire wood = money, excess dried goods (fruit, nuts, herbs, grains, salt) = money, excess blankets = money; batteries, matches, bandages... .basic surplus survival goods effectively equals money. Anything you can store up in excess for that day may potentially be money via barter/trade. Biggest problem with storing up for that day is having the space to keep enough of all the right kinds of things = you probably cannot and do not have the space and means, all the more reason to at least focus on a few critical items to have extra of so that if/when that day comes, perhaps you mosey on down the road to visit a friend whom you happen to know has a surplus of other things that you do not......the two of you arrange a barter/swap to help each other survive another day.
