Re: Nuts to eat on the anti-candida diet
I'm not entirely sure if nuts are necessarily recommended for candida sufferers, especially if their digestion/absorption is already compromised. However, as with any diet, suitability will vary from one individual to the next.
However, in Ayurvedic medicine, almonds are valued as a good way to build strength.
I consume around 10 almonds and a handful of brazil kernels each morning. However, I soak the nuts in water overnight, and remove the skins from the almonds. Note that the almonds should be raw (not salted or roasted). These soaked nuts are combined with soaked dried fruit (dates, figs, raisins) spices (ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamon), and blended into a smoothie. Again in Ayurveda, this is known as an 'ojas' drink.
Best of luck!
