I took raw garlic which caused me to have burning and pain in my stomach, my practitioner told me to carry on, just to take it in smaller amounts but still have a bulb a day, this was far too much for me and caused me to become unwell. My interstitial cystitis worsened and I had inflammation in my intestine which was extremely painful, which i'd never had before. I did take the garlic for a long time instructed my practitioner but I shouldn't have done, shorter intervals and a smaller amount might have saved me from my bad experience. I ate parsley leaves after the garlic which stops the garlic breath. I also took garlic capsules before the raw garlic and they were much milder.
I had to stop the garlic and it took months to recover, well that was two years ago and I still have some inflammation and my bladder is more sensitive.
