Acid reflux is not uncommon on a water only fast, and is usually down to a weakness in the esophageal sphincter muscle and allows the stomach contents to regurgitate up into the esophagus itself. The stomach contents are most likely leftover bile and other weakened stomach acids. Try sipping warm to hot water but more hot than warm, and let us know how you get on.
