Dr William A. McGarey's book, The Oil That Heals, is an excellent reference for using castor oil packs. He says that "The concept that elimination internally and regeneration of the tissue are primary effects when castor oil is applied to the body...Too little attention is given in the importance of eliminations in the medical world today."

Dr. McGarey says to "apply the pack to the portion of the body that needs treatment."
