Your right, he is leaving it to other doctors. Just because he is a doctor doesnt mean hes qualified to try to treat something like this. Not all doctors specialize in EVERYTHING, so he has referred me to specialists. And because of his referrals, I have my doctors email and cell number and can contact him anytime I want. Which otherwise I may not be able to do.

He is a cancer surgeon, and although he knows a ton of general medical information, he knows that a dermatologist/Inflammatory Skin Specialist is much more qualified to treat this. If I had cancer, then he would be the first person on my case.

You just have to understand that the most successful and qualified doctors are specialists. So I wouldnt go to the same doctor if I had skin cancer, that I would if I had a common cold. You wouldnt even see the same doctor if you had breast cancer, that you would see if you had mouth cancer. Thats how specialized the medical field is these days.

The key is to get referrals to the right specialist and thats what he has done. And thats by far the best thing he can do for me. Tweet
