I know you love the CO2 extraction method now but in the future when making mead it may be better to give the batch a couple of days to ferment before adding the vervaine.

First what we really want is CO2 and alcohol of which there are none in the beginning anyhow. Second if for some reason it fails one can always fix the issue before adding the herbs.
