Re: 2 weeks post Mirena Removal

I'm about half a week ahead of you. I got my mirena out 18 days ago and had similar experience. I had a great first few days then my symptoms came back too. For me it was mainly abdominal pain, hip joint pain, bloating, brain fog, and apparently very short-tempered as my hubby told me yesterday. he's being great and hanging in there so far.

I immediately put in the nuvaring when my iud was removed because that's what I had used previously w/o any major problems (my then gyno thought my blood pressure was high - 132/82 - and wanted me to switch to Mirena). Anyway, after talking to my husband, I am taking out the nuvaring tonight and getting fitted for a diaphram. I think I need to take a break from hormonal birth control. Although I'm sure this will be a nasty period, I'm looking forward to having one after so long.

Hang in there. I'm sorry you're missing work and life seems so crazy. I understand the anxiety. I had this too, but it hasn't come back yet. I had panic attacks about 7 years ago before my hypothyroidism was diagnosed. Hormone problems can really make you feel out of control. I also understand your feelings of being exhausted and unmotivated. I am a teacher and will go back to work on Monday. I'm really worried about how I am going to be able to function.

The ladies here are really supportive and it seems like we will have better days if we hang in there.
