where do you get your Iodine crystal from, can it be mixed with plain /distilled water?

I hate Lugols smell & taste, the more I take it, the more I reject it; it hasn't helped getting used to the smell & taste after taking it for quite some time on & off now; I am really struggling with taking it.

I wish to find less offensive alternative, the Iodoral's is out of question.
