Re: Getting Mirena out tomorrow!
Prepare for a long post, lol. I started out with dizziness and they noticed that my pupils were sluggish. They sent me for an MRI which was normal, but the Dr. said she had thought MS. They then sent me for a tilt-table test, and they thought that I had POTS. They then put me on Zoloft, which seemed to help for awhile. When I started feeling worse again, my original Dr. had moved away so my new doctor sent me to a different neurologist. She thinks I have migraine associated vertigo, but after trying some different meds she sent me for the vestibular testing with the attitude that they would be normal. They showed bilateral vestibular hypofunction, which appeared to be a problem in my ear rather than from the brain. I went through lots of vestibular rehab with no effects. She refused to do any EMG's since she still thinks migraine, so my regular doctor ordered them for a baseline. They showed no ALS or motor problems, but neuropathy many places and maybe some demyelination in my right ulnar nerve. So that is where I stand, completely off all meds and Mirena now. I have also been to otolaryngologist, cardiologist, and rheumatologist. My ANA have always been negative. I have lots of probs with dry eyes, so for a time they thought Sjorgren's syndrome but blood work was ok on that as well. So right now I'm waiting to see if this removal makes a difference. Today, I have a bad headache and lots of vertigo so who knows if it will or not. Today is 5 days postremoval.
