Re: Lip Psoriasis Article

HI EcParent,

Yes, I definitely think hormonal issues could be a factor, but proving it is another thing. Even the research that you post of below, while pointing out major possible links to hormonal issues, does state that “a direct connection of any particular endocrine gland or hormone with Psoriasis was not found.”. So I do not know.

In my own case, I believe that major long-term anxiety is probably the root cause of my condition, and it can cause major endocrine system problems, So it’s a definitely a possibility. I have come across interesting hormonal disruption stuff in a book I read recently. Disruptions to the hormones testosterone and oestrogen especially. These are produced in the adrenal glands, as well as the genitals. Other hormone issues relating to Human Growth Hormone were also mentioned. In certain cases they were disrupting sebum levels in the skin which lead to skin issues, including ordinary acne. I wondered if something similar was going on in the lips. It could be something else.

But again, are the right kind of tests out that that could prove this? I do not know, but it’s definitely worth following up.
