Re: Female hair loss help
My full regiment right now includes iron, vitamin C, magnesium, and selenium. I plan on continuing this when I restart the Iodine tomorrow.
Make sure you have an active-B complex though. Best ones can be taken on empty stomach with no problems.
As for the psych meds, I've been diagnosed with clinical depression. However, it got to a point where they tried stacking one on top of the other and I hated the "numb" feeling you got. Plus, nothing seemed to change, so it was just one on top of the other. At one point, I was on Lithium, Abilify, Seroquil, Clonazepam, and Paxil on a daily basis.
What do you believe sent you into depression in the first place?
I should note that the level of lithium started off as one pill at night in September, building up to 4 pills at night in December, then tapering off in March to none in April. My doc told me it was a fairly low level.
Docs are Gods? A low level for one person could be a high level for another, and vice-versa. There is no absolute.
Since mid-April, I've only taken a low level of Seroquil each day for anxiety. And I plan on stopping that. Counseling, reading, and taking responsibility for my life seem to have done much more than psych meds.
I'm happy to hear that you're taking control.
I've read through info about lithium (thanks for the further links) and they all say that hair loss/weight gain set off by the lithium reversed upon stopping. I would say the only thing that has stopped is the acne -- but it hasn't gotten better despite a plethora of cleansers and moisturizers. It's all just stayed, this horrible cystic acne.
I've talked to people about weight loss and reversing depression, L-Carnitine popped up in conversation. If you take it daily, it will bring on a gradual weight loss and improve brain function and structure. Good fats like Coconut oil could help improve weight by stimulating the thyroid and many other benefits. Find some good reads here on curezone on coconut oil and obtaining some high quality oil. I take a spoon when I wake with a bunch of other stuff. I only preach about the stuff that I've actually tested on myself.
As for the hair loss and weight gain, it seems to have gotten worse since stopping. I figured it would take 3-4 weeks for the lithium to fully get out of my system and for my body to get used to it. And I've read that with lithium's half-life, it should get out of the system in 5 days. So you can imagine my frustration as the hair loss continues to go. Right now, I'll try anything.
Hopefully, it will reverse the loss.
