OK, now I'm confused. He gives the herbs to the beasts, meaning no beast should eat meat either? Then...milk to us for meat? I have always thought that biologically we are not meant to consume milk from other animals, because as children we lose the enzyme lactase, needed to digest lactose. Among other evidence...is this passage from the same essene text?
