Re: 141490..Re: I want to fast but I'm scared...

Hi DL,
no no not too personal at all.

Both of my extended fasts were over 30 years ago, and my starting weight wasn't an issue at the time, as I had always been "thin" throughout my childhood and teenage years.
My weight had levelled off by my mid-teens to about 130 pounds for a height of 5 feet 7 inches and I remember that clearly from the beginning of the fast. I also have a small frame.
A BMI of about 20.4 then in today's measurement, although BMI's were not even thought of back then.

I remember my weight towards the end of the 25 days because I weighed myself everyday towards the end, in line with the advice I received by phone from Sheltons Health School, run by Dr Virginia Vetrano. It was about seven and a half stones or 105 pounds.
I read everything that I ordered from the Health School at that time, (no PDF files for easy downloading, just the painfully slow snailmail) especially about fasting when underweight, and was reassured by that and the advice from the school itself.
My two favourite reads that inspired and motivated me the most were Sheltons " Fasting Can Save Your Life " and Paul Braggs "The Miracle of Fasting". I have quite a sizeable library now on Natural Hygiene from Shelton, Trall, Tilden, Dewey, and so on.

It took me another 5 to 6 weeks to recover most of the weight, but I remember starting the second fast of 30 days at a slightly lower weight than the first.
I don't remember my weight at the end of that fast as it didn't concern me too much, but I was slightly thinner than the end of the first: probably under 100 pounds.
After this my digestion and appetite had really improved and I regained the weight and more within about 6 weeks. I followed food combining rules to the letter and esp' after purchasing Dr William L Essers': "Dictionary of Mans Foods", later becoming known as: "Dictionary of Natural Foods". Highly recommended by the way.

I'll stop ranting for now, but once I start it's difficult to stop. !!!!

Chrisb1.
