It was pretty much a waste of time.

Except he did give me something to suppress the urge to cough and help me sleep. He felt of my throat like nobody has ever felt my throat before and told me he could feel a lump on my thyroid gland. Well, if there is one, it is much better, because I used to feel all kinds of stuff around my thyroid gland, and it has gotten better since I started taking iodine.

They took 5 tubes of blood!!!! What do they do with all the body fluids they take from people?!?!? And he ordered a chest x-ray and a sinus x-ray. Why would he want to put radiation into my lungs when I am afraid I have pneumonia?? He looked in my nose and said the bone is crooked. I guess that is why he ordered the sinus x-ray. I did not go get the x-rays. I am trying to decided if I want to do that tomorrow. They will most certainly make a note that I was non-compliant if I do not.

So I went back to the health food store and bought a great big hunk of Brazililan Ginger and started munching as much as I could stand. Man is it hot. And it is stopping the cough better today than it did yesterday, so maybe I can throw these prescriptions away. Brazilian Ginger is the ticket. Works best of everything I tried. Man that stuff is sooooo hot. I dread eating it. But I am relieved when the coughing stops.

My throat remains sore. I don't remember ever having a sore throat last this long before. 15 years ago I had something similar. And I tried to beat it with herbs. This went on and on for a month. And then the cough started getting really bad. And I started running fever with the cough. So I finally gave up and went to the doctor.

She chastised me for not coming in sooner, said my lungs sounded like they were ground meat, and gave me Ampicillin. I had to take it for a long time before I felt any better. I did not want that to happen again. My ribs are already sore from coughing so much. So I go to the doctor and he does nothing but take blood, suppress my cough and order a chest x-ray!!!

Oh yes. He gave me some Clariten. And my nose isn't stopped up. What is the point of that? I have never taken Clariten. Is there any point in taking it if my nose isn't stopped up? Tweet
