detoxing

Well I am really looking for direction in the iodine journey,, I started out with building up with 500 mg of iodine(kelp about two months ago with 200 mg of selenium complex, than started a 1/4 of a tab of iodoral, with in a week I was so sick and that is what led me to this forum, I realized i was detoxing bromide my urine iodine test was so so low that is what started this whole thing, I am retaining water and this is what is holding me back on salt load, yesterday and this morning I was so sick, whole body ache , all joints just feel like i can even explain, so today I will not take the iodine , i switch from a tab to 1/4 of iodoral every other day, Wednesday i took a half , and omg, I so want to push threw this , this board is the only place i have to find out if all is normal, my detox is i think extreme from what i hear on the board, i know it is the detox as when i stop system go down but legs are really holding alot of water so the big questions is ,,,since i am retaining and take a lot of natural stuff to help that with no relief ,(fighting water pills) Would it be harmful to do the salt flush,,,,I am 65 and this past week i was sure i would die, i hide as people just don't understand what i am doing , so right now i am pretty isolated, any help is so much appreciated, to some it up retaining water so should i still do the salt flush am taking a break so if i get an answer i am preparing, thanks all , so discouraged, this has been a 4 month process just need to know if i am normal lol thanks again Linda
