Re: The Dark Side of The Alternative Health Movement: Promoting Ingested Iodine
A major flaw in the pro-iodine crowd's logic that I notice is that they state that
Iodine has cured a number of Cureone posters of cancer etc. They contend that this has convinced them that
Iodine is good.
Now if I really think about this, I conclude that I'm being told that Cureone is promoting the ingestion of a chemical of known toxicity.
But does it really make sense to believe the testimonials of unknown posters that we've never met, have no idea of whether they're telling us the truth, and also have no idea of their true state of health????? Plus, we have no idea of the true long-term effects.
They'll say things like "we'd be dead by now if
Iodine was toxic". Yet humans seem to be able to tolerate known toxins (such as mercury in teeth) in their body - to a point - without dying.
If someone wants to believe in something and self-experiment, obviously it's their choice. But to heavily promote something to others when in truth, no one knows the true long-term effects, both on ourselves and also potentially on our children and their children and grandchildren etc., is unethical IMO.
