Re: Paleo diet & fatigue

I have been on the paleo diet for the past 3 weeks - my aim was to improve energy and mental clarity, reduce some signs of candida overgrowth (sebhorreic dermatitis, vaginal yeast, etc) and maybe shed a few #s...

I cut out nearly all processed foods but do indulge in a pretty natural salad dressing, mustard and almond butter.

I haven't really lost any weight, which is ok, but I am even more tired and foggy headed than when I started! I also thought that my abdominal distension and signs of inflammation (flat sided poop, if I can poop that is!).

Sorry to be gross, but I barely have a bowel movement with this diet and when I do, it's not optimal (small amount, fairly wet and dark).

I wouldn't say that I feel constipated, per se, but it just doesn't seem like my pipes are working.

So I came home from work today and dove into a bowl of oatbran like an addict! Is there anything to the paleo diet in your opinion? I know I've only given it 3 wks, but I feel crummy...

It would be better if you told me specifically what you are eating.  I have never looked much in to the paleo diet, especially since there have been so many hypotheses of what this really consisted of.

Thanks for doing what you do!

You are welcome.
