Re: 7 days for 7 years

Very interesting, NH, ... I've heard recently from an acquaintance about the Essenes. Is there a fasting tradition
in Kabbalah too? I read now, the link between Essene and Kabbalah is not proven. I like exploring spiritual traditions and these two are definitely an interest for me.
What you say about energy stores according to that article is most probably truthful. And I certainly would qualify as one with good energy stores.
If I do fast to completion and all my fat is burned, I would happily report how many days one can go from 115 lb to around 85 lbs, given that the body fat is 26%. I am not sure, though, that the same would apply later, for subsequent second long fast, if I am able to move more with less joint discomfort and I get to a leaner state after 1st fast, re feeding and building. For example, if I get to 13 to 10% body fat, to be realistic in my goals. I fasted on spring water years ago, working on my grand parents farm, ... in a hot summer; I lost 10 lbs in 5 days getting down to 105 lbs, but then I had more muscle, I barely had any fat left, being quite leaner then and I felt I have to stay in bed if I had to continue. Well this time I will not do physical exploits, and I estimate I will be burning not 2 but 1 to 0.5 pound on most days, after the 5th day let's say, so probably I could go safely around 30 days ... if I build the necessary electrolytes ... we will see.
