yes, the coffee and tea (and the sparkling water)struck me too, as not constituting an actual water fast. This is in fact more of an extreme diet. I'm not against a small amount of that stuff on the first 1-3 days--I think it can be very hard for people to turn off and switch over to burning fat only (and all the good stuff that happens on only water), and if a cup of tea or coffee, (or in the case of my first long wfast, a glass of red wine!!) help you get over the hump, then I feel it's fine. But it *should* stop, imv. By day three. And sometimes it's harder to do that than just go full on water only. I think some peopl find that limiting the water early on can make it easier... I do hope you'll consider dropping the 'food', for it is behaving as "food", albeit a radical diet, and ChrisB will have already given you the wherefores, and whys.


I know it seems *wet blanket* ("damp squib"?)to be down on your methods in any way, as Chris too has said, but this IS a water-only fasting forum--The reason is not to be killjoys or discourage great visions of health, but so that people will be enabled to fully experience all the good that can be accomplished, with water-only. Hope you read some more of the literature, and experience for yourself water only. (btw, sparkling water also is 'something added', that many believe the body, when left alone to manage its resources, finds an intrusion, and a strain.)
