I have been drinking for 15 years and I would say it was OK at any time and mixed with anything.
Some tips.
Use a plastic cup to drink from at body temp. because it has a much stronger taste as it cools.
Always have a full glass of water before bed because the strong salty taste is due to a lack of water in the body. Coffee and tea etc. should not be substituted for the water.
Don't forget that the urine you drink goes into your stomach, not your blood stream direct. You put all sorts of poisons into your stomach every day and the body sorts them out.
Try to do it for a fortnight and when you stop see if any aches or pains reappear. Urine will help to reduce, eliminate or cure inflammation and you do not realise until you stop.
