Re: A question about my results
I definitely would give 100mg a try.
and you can take it all at once or take it once/day or even 3x/day if you like too.
the 91% excretion looks like it could be a good thing, but unless you were already ingesting a significant amount of
Iodine it would be impossible to come out with a 91% excretion. Soooooo, what this is telling you is this: you have a symporter defect, which vitamin C will fix or you have an organification problem, which ATP Cofactors or the equivalent will fix.
Both of these problems don't let the
Iodine into the cells so the
Iodine can be used, so your body just pees it out.
so, I just went back and read your note again.
How much B2/3 are you taking?
How much C are you taking?
You might up your C to maybe 6 or even 9 grams/day
divided doses.
I usually feel better when I take more than 3g.
Are you doing the salt water? 1/4 to 1/2 tsp really good
Sea Salt in big glass water, 1-3 times/day. Use 1:1 with Potassium Chloride if you start getting cramping or edema.
you gotta get the bromide out and the chloride is hugely important for this.
you might also get some
SSKI from Trapper here. I personally do 100mg or so of
Lugol's and about 120mg of
SSKI each day.
I am two years into this path on Iodine. I retest my Bromide every 6 months and just last month my bromide dropped to 8mg/day, it had been at 20ish/mg/day every time I tested it before.
It is totally worth staying the course , it can take several years for some of us to get the bromide and fluoride down enough before you make significant improvements.
if you retest your TSH soon there is a very good chance it is really high, just be prepared and educated about that.
how much mag are you taking? if your bowels can tolerate it take 400-600mg divided doses.
if you go up with I you might want to up your selenium to 400mcg. You are taking selenomethionine?
the reference range for bromide is
<5mg/L urine
<10mg/L blood (serum)
I personally wouldn't redo the iodine loading test. I would just retest my Bromide.
You might also get some Lugol's. It is much less expensive than the iodoral and it is great for topical stuff.
Do you take your Iodine away from food?
some of us here like to take it first thing in morning and one hour later take water, salt and C and possibly other supplements.
these are all suggestions.
keep asking questions and check in.
it is ok to take breaks and or pulse your dose.
