Re: TMG and Glycine for H pylori
I have H pylori and have tried mastic gum, manuka honey, dgl, monolarium, pepzine, broccoli sprouts, DGL etc. but was not successful in eradicating the bacteria.
What are they basing the presence of H. pylori on? If an antibody test this will not conform if H. pylori is still present.
So as a last resort I am going to take pyloricil (60 caps) 2 caps a day upon waking and before bed on empty stomach for a month. I shall do this therapy with coconut oil, DGL, broc. Sprouts (caps), Fibre Aid, cranberry juice, aloe gel, etc.
Pyrocil is primarily mastic gum. It also contains berberine sulfate, which is a strong antibiotic. Like pharmaceutical antibiotics though berberine will also kill the beneficial flora.
I also have 90 caps of 500 mg of Swanson TMG.and 1 lb of Glycine (1/4 tsp = 1 gram) as I read in one of OWEN’s post that Glycine helps in eradication of h pylori.
Glycine was shown in one study to kill H. pylori in Petri dishes in a dose dependent manner. And in Japan it was shown to reduce the amount of amoxicillin needed to kill the bacteria. There are no studies showing complete eradication by glycine alone in the human body.
TMG though, which breaks down in to glycine, is a very good solvent so it should help increase the effectiveness of the mastic gum on H. pylori.
Should I take TMG 3x a day with meals (that would be 1500 grams and I weigh under 100 lbs) and take ¼ tsp of Glycine 3 times a day ½ hour before meals? Would this be overkill?
Not overkill, but these would be best taken on an empty stomach along with as mastic gum source.
Please help me determine the dosage and also whether I should take both the products….
