Baking soda is supposed to confuse the bacteria out of the mucosal layer so mastik can get at it.
Baking soda will neutralize the stomach acid, which H. pylori already does with ammonia to protect itself.
Taking baking soda with meals will also interfere with the digestion of proteins and the absorption of nutrients. Not a good idea.
