Re: Giardia? SIBO? Strongyloides? candida?

Okay guys, well its been a while now, about 9 months to be exact, time for an update.

I am still getting grey stools, was diagnosed with IBS by one Gastro. Greasey, sometimes mucousy, followed by mucousy diarrhea, irritated by most foods, sugars especially had to go.

I am on an elimination diet, soy yogurt, and turkey, chicken, and eggs. VIrtually no olive oil, and only cooked with a bit of vegetable spread. The soy yogurt contains some calcium supplementation which would account for why ive felt it to be so useful, despite that i normally eat it with some fruit(very little). NO sugars, ancient grain breads(wheat free w/ chia, millet, and flax. I am also using Raw fiber by garden of life in smaller doses mixed with the yogurt over the course of the day.

I have also quit smoking marijuana. WHen I quit smoking I hardly ate, and this seemed to cure my side effects, but dropped to 103lbs. As i ate to regain my weight and slowly got my appetite back, I noticed the effects returned and so I had to completely eliminate all foods except the aforementioned. 6 weeks after quitting and dropping the weight, im up to 114.4lbs and gaining, and feeling lean.

I am trying to get a lactulose breath test, which was not easy to request, I believe this is a case of chronic SIBO, irritating IBS. I believe this to be a post-giardia syndrome that i had read about in some medical journals. It is due to irritants and bacteria in the small intestine, feeding on unabsorbed sugars(lactose), alchohols, and vinegars, all the while irritated by wheat and other irritating things(gluten) which normally would be broken down. THe bacteria teem in the small intestine, jejunum and duodenum, where the body brings water in to flush the fu**ers out(yes I really do hate them). This infected water and mucous, is then dumped into the large intestine, and then hangs out and colonizes the colon, causes more water to be drawn in and more mucous to be produced, and fermentaton occurs and that is what was causing the diarrhea. As the spasms of the small intestine were reduced, and as the bacteria were killed off during the initial fast, I use the fiber to "brush" out the small intestine, and to absorb the excess liquids in the colon. This is clearly represented by now a sole BM once a day. THough incomplete, and sometimes repeated, Ill take it over the 20+ times a day i experienced from the constant flushing from before.

the docs stink and tried to put me on anti spasmodics right away, but this is like putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound. Nothing in Science is unexplainable and why i was having these spasms and diarrhea was not by some "nervous system phenomenon". It was easily explained with a fusion of common sense, and alot of research on intestinal flora, and a great article on web md that explains SIBO and IBS and how most IBS is caused by this poorly understood condition. It has not been easy, but every day I am further into the right direction, and I can only hope by this time next year, I will be normal again.

Dont give up guys, never ever give up.
