Re: My SuperOxide Dismutase (SOD) Results

Copper is needed for lysyl oxidase, which is the enzyme that maintains collagen on a second-by-second basis.

The fact that my collagen is disappearing is because of no copper getting into the cell.

This is the reason why my SOD is low...copper not getting into the cell.

Also, of course, unbound free copper is a pro-oxidant, so whenever that escapes, it harms me (like when I take chelators that stir lots of copper ions up).

I thought there was just the advice to take zinc as a means of antagonism. What if I take zinc and it merely prevents me from absorbing copper, while preventing access to the bioavailable copper that I do have with low ceruloplasmin.

My understanding is not clarified enough, so taking a mineral could mean more destruction, and even death in my precarious state. I suppose the question is whether I trust the recommendations from ARL...

What happens if I've got this soil organism that's keeping my cortisol stimulated via immune cytokines, while simultaneously stealing copper, while simultaneously preventing me from bind unbound, toxic copper? The situation is just too complicated somehow and my poop still smells of compost - it's that simple. I think the soil organism is keeping my endocrine system completely whacked and the copper water I drank for two weeks is just the tragic icing on the cake.

So, my approach was to try to gently remove the unbound copper while killing the organism somehow. BUT, maybe those balancing minerals would help and I'd dump more copper - who knows? I guess I'd just have to experiment...
