Eating calcium doesn't benefit bones or teeth, that's a marketing ploy. Actually vitamin D3 aids in the uptake of calcium (a severe deficiency causes rickets, with bowed legs due to softened bones) and the 80+ other minerals our body needs, but the vitamin / dairy industry would love for us to think we can improve our health by purchasing a single mineral or a pantry full of supplements, but our bodies are superbly more complicated than modern science. Thank God. Our teeth are remineralized and healed through proper nutrients in the bloodstream and saliva.
Sodium ascorbate - the salt form of vitamin c which is alkalyne and not acidic like ascorbic acid vit c - also benefits gums, teeth, and bones by somehow aiding in mineralization. I am abandoning the baking soda on the teeth for brushing with unrefined Sea Salt and sodium ascorbate, which I think will be more beneficial.
