"Listen to your body" is an overused meaningless "cliche" used when people are second guessing and/or have no real experience or actual knowledge to contribute but worse of all when it culminates in >fear mongering< using exclamation signs (!). If we had the wisdom or experience to interpret any of these signs we would have NEVER eaten those jelly donuts that got most of us to the stage of illness or toxemia to begin with ;+D

It is a well known "fact" of any cleansing protocol that depending on many factors including our particular ailments and toxic stage that more likely than not one will go through moments of discomfort caused by toxins released by the fasting/cleansing process. Given this if everyone quit at any sign of discomfort nobody would ever do any cleanses or fast long enough for the system to actually release the toxins that are causing the discomfort/illness.

In more extreme cases when one is having a Herxheimer reaction caused by more toxins released than the system can handle, the general wisdom is to do an enema to evacuate the toxins from the system and also start drinking lots of fluids to keep things diluted and moving out. In fasting/cleansing protocols the wisdom is also to never quit on a low to allow the system to process and expel the toxins that were causing the discomfort.

It is a wise endeavor for anyone embarking on any fasting protocol that before starting any fast that for as long as possible to gradually start the system detoxing by eating a mostly raw diet and drinking veggie juices pre fast to minimize any detox reactions during a fast. Tweet
