Re: Mirena ruining my life?
It's really tough to read what you ladies are writing without reflecting on my own experiences because they're all so similar. To the original poster I have only 1 suggestion - please get the Mirena out as soon as possible. With the variety of birth control options available there is just no need to gamble with your health, especially when there are so many of us out there attesting to having the same symptoms and problems with recovering. And if you are already having symptoms, the chances are good that you're one of us, and Mirena is having a bad effect. The longer its in the worst it'll be!
On a side note, I was totally amazed reading about other people's heightened testosterone levels. I was checked a couple months ago and my endocronologist (I have mild hypothyroidism) found that my testosterone levels are elevated. Oh boy, does my husband love to joke with me about that. But, as a result, I am experiencing some significant hair loss like many of you other ladies. Wow, is that a crap feeling. No wants to feel ill...and balding at the same time. I want to ask people about their hair loss experiences. I'm losing hair like balding men do - in the very front (I'm going to be guilty of having a bangs comb-over if things don't improve soon) and maybe a little bit at my crown. I've got a slightly receding hairline, and very thinning hair in front. And I'm only 30, not that hair loss feels good at any age. So I'm REALLY wondering if other people who mention hair loss have had it man-style like me. Ladies? Also, for people that are further along in their recovery (I had mirena removed 3 months ago) - did the hair start to regrow? Or do I need to start wig shopping?
Any feedback is appreciated, and I hope that all heal and cope well! If only hot chocolate and wishing made it so!
