First thing I check when I have a new case; seen so much problems caused by calcium supplements; most are in a insoluble form as calcium carbonate. Its cheap and even docs recommend it, due to bone loss etc. Most women over here take it in some form + the daily milk.

Calcium makes the muscles contract, magnesium make the muscles relax. Taking vit D3 if low in magnesium make the body take up more calcium, and there is the not so merry go round.
