Re: MH-Iodine

"Everyone in the USA is iodine defeicient".

This sentiment echoes that of my homeopath, in fact, upon first meeting him for health counseling several months ago, an iodine test was among the full workup and battery of tests he advised so that he would have ample info about me to begin advising on a general plan to treat my condition. I believe the actual figure he quoted was that 95% of all people are iodine deficient. Yes, I took the tetst, still have a copy of the blow-by-blow results but the general result were - i'm iodine deficient. It is somewhat funny, in an odd way, that a lot of PJ people advise "oh, if your iodine deficient, no problem, just eat more fish". More often than not I don't have the heart to tell them that increasing mercury intake is not necessarily a sound treatment for iodine deficiency.

FWIW, when I say "my condition", I don't mean that I'm obviously suffering from any particular and well known disease[s], what I mean is we all have a condition, some better than others, some worse, mine is currently okay for a person of my age and risk factors, it seems that my condition in general is best stated as saying I am just one of the many suffering from 40-plus years of exposure to typical american lifestyle and environment (engrained habits, air, water, food, media etc, which is to say bad habits surrounded with poison (air), more poison (water), more poison (food) and major more poison (media, tv, and the industries of hollywood & music).

At this point it's a matter of whether or not I go the route of taking the form of iodine he prescribes (can't remember the name of it) OR taking the route of self-treating using the info I can find on my own at places like this forum.

From what I gather, iodine is not something to necessarily fool around with, but I believe the example MH gave (using on the wrist) is one I've seen other places, and it seems to suggest - put some on your body, if your body quickly absorbs it in a day or two, this is an indication it really needed it. Would be nice to see more dialogue on the general iodine issue.

Thanks.
