I'm trying the 3 days nonfat idea
Hi everyone,
I'm trying out an idea that someone had success with. Like many people on this forum, I've rolled my eyes many times at the idea of a low fat diet helping get rid of candida, especially when that diet includes lots of fruit.
Well I'm doing a 3 days test (But with no fruit! so no risk of worsening myself on these 3 days) related to this idea. I got the idea from gigglegirl on a post she did long ago (link is at the end of this message). BUT, when my 3 days is over and I'm ready to test out my digestion to see if it got better from just 3 days ago, I'm not going to jump into large quantities of fruit. Instead, I'll add modest quantities of berries and granny apple -- even that little bit has always caused me problems, so if I can now eat that, I'll be happy.
Today is the third day of completely nonfat, no fruit, and not even any sweet tasting vegetables either; just to make this experiment certain I avoided all veggies except very dark non-sweet tasting ones on these 3 days. So, I've been eating starch, nonfat protein (white meat turkey, egg white), and dark green leafy veggies.
Tomorrow I'll test the results with small amount of fruit; we'll see what happens! Then if it seems successfull in allowing those small amounts of fruit to not flare me up they way they always have, I'll try out what the original poster does, but not heavy fruit: in other words I'll go to 80 / 10 / 10 but the 80% won't be much fruit for me, it'll be complex starches. The key apparently is keeping fat at only 10% - again, something I have scoffed at in my mind many times.
