Yes that is what we see in the members of the yahoo cutler groups. It is also my personal experience after 1.5 yrs of AC protocol. For example check the series of hair tests for member #360.
We more often look for high copper which is especially nasty when present with Hg.
I think Cutler's view is that you manage the candida as well as possible while you chelate to affect the underlying cause.
Do you know if your neutrophils are low? In the Files of the frequent dose chelation group, Cutler has a long list of suggestions for supporting neutrophils and combating candida.
DMSA tends to have a negative impact on neutrophils. I would not expect a person with candida and Hg to tolerate more than 25mg DMSA. Oral DMPS and ALA are usually much better tolerated.
