Re: Lyme Disease

I'm not saying you do or do not have Lyme disease, but agree you should seek a second opinion.

I was diagnosed with Lyme by blood test about 10 months post removal, and the doctors said I displayed classic Lyme symptoms -- mostly in reference to my brain fog and urinary problems. I started treatment but was totally unable to tolerate any of the drugs. I went on and off herbals without noticing a difference.

So instead of treating, I waited. I wasn't getting worse, which was in direct opposition to what my doctors told me would happen if I didn't treat the Lyme. I gave myself a deadline to begin treatment again if I was feeling worse. But instead, by that deadline my urinary problems had gotten 90% better, and my brain fog was about 50% better, and seemed to fluctuate with my cycles. Now I am 2.5 years post and feel very close to my old, pre-Mirena self -- all without Lyme treatment. I am convinced that my problems were hormonal, not Lyme, despite the blood test.

I believe chronic lyme exists, but I am skeptical that it can be accurately diagnosed post-Mirena.
