Re: Sensitization to canditoxins causing vulvodynia.

I researched this disease for 14 years, and that is my opinion. I think once it becomes chronic - i.e. you have it every day continuously for more than a year, it will be extremely difficult to cure.

But I really hope I am wrong & that you will take an echinocandin drug cocktail and get cured, and report back here. You deserve to succeed. We all do.

I would never recommend a single antifungal drug be taken alone. Always a 3 or more drug cocktail, each drug with a different mechanism of action. I think that will give you the best odds of avoiding resistance.

Keep in mind that "By age 18, most Americans have had up to 20 doses of Antibiotics ."

Yet other than being fat, they are mostly OK, right?

So my opinion is that most people (90 - 95% of population) are immune or very resistant to candidiasis, and unlikely that they ever get a chronic case of it. Therefore they will never post on this forum.

But I suspect perhaps 5 - 10% are genetically susceptible, and once they get a certain cumulative lifetime does of antibiotics, will develop a chronic infection.
Even in that 5 - 10% there will be some who have much more severe case than others.
