Re: I think I figured out my ROOT cause.
Hi TA, if you don't mind me tapping into your expertise....
Is it really a bad idea to have a tooth pulled (molar) w/out replacing it w/ anything? I remember doing a lot of research a while back on 'edentulous spaces' and the conclusion I came to was 'not really.'
I have a lower molar, 2nd from the back, that has been root canalled and has a crown. This was done 11 years ago. Every month and year that goes by I become more and more convinced that it's a haven for bacteria and may be part of the reason I don't experience deep, refreshing sleep. I'm thinking at some point, it's gonna have to come out. For years now the sinus on that side of my head has been chronically, though mildly, stuffed up. I do notice slight, occasional sensitivity to foods in that tooth, and occasionally a shooting sensation that goes up into my brain(!).
Also, are you aware of that factoid that goes something like this: "People who have more than 2
root canals are 40%(?) more likely to get cancer." For a long time I've been trying to remember if it was "more than 2" or "2 or more"..... Thanks in advance.
