Re: The Liver Flush Is BS
With all due respects Daizymae,
there is one very simple method of determining the health of the body: if one goes without food or nourishment of any kind, except drinking pure water according to thirst for 36 hours, and you experience headaches, weakness, general malaise, nausea, sweating and other symptoms such as these, then the body is suffering from toxemia, whether this be of an exogenous or endogenous origin.
On the other hand, and over over the same period of time, if you feel physically/mentally elated and stronger with none of the above symptoms, then the body is toxemic-free.
What is perceived as, and so often misdiagnosed as Hypoglycemia, is in reality the effort by the body in eliminating these toxins, and where the Liver will play a major part in this detoxification process.
The liver works overtime (as do the other organs of elimination) on a water-only-fast, if the body has toxins needed to be expelled or burnt as fuel during ketosis, but once the body is mostly free from toxemia, the Liver and other organs of the body will regenerate and self-cleanse as an innate bodily healing-process.
The
Liver Flush can therefore be superfluous in the cleansing process, as the whole body will cleanse itself given sufficient time on a water-only-fast: Natures own remedy, which has its origins as far back as Hippocrates himself, and who employed the fast as a remedial measure, and in all states of health and disease.
The saying is, that the greater the symptoms of detox on a water-only-fast, the greater the need for the fast itself.

Your comment daizymae that.................
"The best flush I ever had, I ate at 6 PM and then took the oil at 10. Some of my chronic symptoms went away and I felt just plain healthy & happy for awhile".
I don't doubt is quite true, but the significant part for me was that your "symptoms went away for a while".
In other words, a temporary measure and suppression or masking of symptoms without addressing the true cause of your malady.
BTW: it is impossible for anyone to damage themselves thru fasting, as this could only occur when the starvation period begins: between 30 and 50 days, depending on the quantity and quality of internal food-reserves.
There is a huge distinction between fasting and starving...............

You are missing out on what Upton Sinclair described, after his first lengthy water-only-fast, as: "I have discovered a state of superhealth, unknown to humans"
Best wishes.
