Re: Sugar!?!?!

Hi APC,
You sound like me. Daily guitar player, athletic, then similar things started to happen. Weakness, mental fog, no energy, rashes, bloating... I had fungal spots on my skin (tricep area) that would seem to flare up. To cut to the chase, I went off gluten, dairy and Sugar 3 years ago and it's probably saved my life (found out I was gluten/dairy sensitive; BTW gluten and casein [a protein in milk] are very hard to digest). I went on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, getting off wheat, pasteurized dairy and Sugar as the diet prescribed.

After the initial 6 weeks of detox from all that, I went from 195 lbs to 170 in about 2 or 3 months with little or no exercise. It was all just fat to store the toxic byproducts of my body's struggle with these items. The mental clarity was phenomenal at times, with other days of fog as I dumped toxins. Then came colon cleansing, then parasite cleansing - which I believe is key to the gluten-dairy problems (but you gotta clear the colon first). I would strongly checking out the posts by Onwards - her stuff's helped me alot. I did some colonics to start - really helped. Onwards recommends a good living probiotic like home made sauerkraut or home made kefir, kimchi... They actually seem to cut the Sugar craving as well - bonus! Yeah, the fungi, candida & critters all love sugar.

Another thing, I couldn't eat store-bout hamburger, and had problems with store-bought meat in general. Found some farmers that raised grass-fed beef - I could eat burgers again (without a bun :), and someone else that raised organic chickens (without all the nasty Antibiotics and vaccines in them). It's definitely more time on food prep once you start reading labels and seeing how nasty prepared foods are, but eating on the S.C. Diet, I probably look younger at 50 than I did three years ago.

Anyway, it's a step-by-step journey. Check out Onwards' posts, and I'll be glad to share anything that's worked for me as well.
Fingerstyle Bob :)
