Silver may cause tissue to turn black. Nickel may cause tissue to turn dark green. So, since you have crowns, it is possible that this discoloration is because of the alloy used in the crown. I am not saying it is, just saying it could be possible. It is also possible that the oil you used had a chemical reaction with the metal in your crowns, thus causing this dark spot. Again i am just saying it could be possible.
